Health Coaching Within Primary Care
Providing structured health coaching within primary care to help patients improve their health with realistic, sustainable lifestyle changes.

WORKING WITH THE NHS
I am currently employed by local GP surgeries, supporting patients who have been referred for health coaching.
Many of the individuals I work with are initially referred for weight management. However, very often, weight is only part of the picture. Behind the number on the scales, there is often fatigue, low confidence, long-standing eating habits, confusion about nutrition advice, and a fear that change will mean strict dieting or calorie counting.
My role is to provide structured, supportive coaching that feels manageable and realistic, not restrictive.
A SUPPORTIVE, EDUCATIONAL APPROACH
-
How different foods affect energy levels and gut health
-
Why certain choices leave them feeling hungry and fatigued
-
How balanced meals help them feel fuller for longer
-
How to make practical changes without calorie counting or rigid meal plans.
A key part of my work is education. Patients gain a clearer understanding of:
One patient reflected that she had been “worried that it was going to be a calorie counting diet to follow but it wasn’t. It was just literally healthy eating and eating the right things.”

BEYOND WEIGHT LOSS
-
Renewed energy and motivation
-
Greater confidence in their food choices
-
A structured approach to meal planning
-
Improved relationship with food
-
Increased readiness to engage in physical activity.
